Home is where the heart is

I used to be intimated by in-home sessions in the beginning of my Photography Journey but now I see them so differently! Different lighting situations and not knowing the environments in which I'm entering are now challenges I look forward to encountering! I have always loved looking back at photographs of me as a child and scavenging the background for reminders of what I used to play with or the art I created taped up on the walls. Those little pieces in the background always help bring back those memories that have dimmed over time. This Mom asked me to photograph her children in each of their rooms and they will now be a staple when documenting families at their in-home sessions. I'll take the time to document them as they tell me stories of their favorite dolls or artwork and treasure their proud smiles in their safe space.

P.s. It's always a bonus if we plan a fun little activity during our session as well! This session happened at Christmas time so Gingerbread decorating was such a fun activity to document!
